Top Drog Staying In China

Chelsea’s Champions League hero Didier Drogba won’t be pulling on a Liverpool shirt this January.

The Reds are searching for goals and saw The Drog as the perfect signing but the Ivorian, currently playing for Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, has quashed any speculation linking him with a loan move to Merseyside this winter.

The Metro sample an interview Drogba gave recently, with the Shanghai Morning Post, ‘I hope next season I can start again from the beginning with Shenhua’.

Besides, would Drogba’s reported £300,000 a week wages fit in to Liverpool’s ‘moneyball’ philosophy?
