Pun fans throughout Europe are on standby for this potential move

Malaga are desperately trying to hang on to their midfield star Isco, according to The Sun.

The 20 year old Spaniard (full name Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez, I've got no idea why they abbreviated it) moved to Malaga from Valencia for €6 million last summer.  Since joining he has played 39 times scoring seven goals and contributing five assists. With two goals so far this season he is a big hit for The Anchovies.

His form has seen him called up to represent Spain at the Olymipics and whilst that competition for the Spanish is best forgotten I'm sure he won't be.  People are already likening him to a young Cesc Fabregas and in an attempt to ward off possible suitors a buyout clause of £17 million pounds was inserted into his contract.  With Real Madrid, amongst others, interested Malaga fear the worst and are trying to increase that clause to £30 million.

A man whose name invites so many puns will perhaps be making his mark on a larger stage somewhere in Europe soon.  Personally I've already got Isco fever.
