Holloway enters his new Palace

Ian Holloway has finally decided to leave Bloomfield and has ended his career as Blackpool manager after three and a half successful years which saw a season in the Premiership for the Tangerines.

Now Holloway has pencilled in a new four and a half contract at third place Crystal Palace as he looks set to try and emulate what he did with Blackpool and get Palace back into the Premiership after eight years away from the top division.

Blackpool assistant manager Keith Millen has also joined Holloway at Palace who will take charge in his first match on Tuesday at home to bottom club Ipswich Town. This job gives Holloway and his assistant the chance to take up a new challenge one that both men are excited to start.

There is no doubt Ian Holloway is sad to leave Blackpool, as he said that the best managerial position he had was at his previous club. Holloway managed to get Blackpool to the Premiership in the 2010/11 season where they provided great entertainment and courage; however they were relegated at the end of that season on the final day.

Last season Holloway again managed to get Blackpool to the play-off final but this time they were beaten by West Ham 2-1.

Although Blackpool are sad to see their manager leave, chairman Karl Oyston is happy for the manager and that he thanks him for all he did at the club.
