Liverpool could face battle for left-back target

      Oh-oh.

In news that will have Liverpool fans diving under their sheets in horror, talkSPORT are reporting that the Merseysiders could miss out on their reported top left-back target Pablo Armero, to Italian giants Juventus.

Brendan Rodgers has been searching for a left-back all season long having dispensed with the services of Jose Enrique. Indeed, such is the dearth of talent in that position at Anfield that Stewart Downing has even been tried there!

However, having seemingly identified Udinese ace Armero, a man who impressed against Arsenal in the Champions League last season with his rampaging runs past err....Carl Jenkinson, reigning Serie A champions Juventus have also registered their interest in the Colombia international.

The Old Lady of Italian football see Armero as the perfect candidate to fulfil their left wing-back role in their 3-5-2 formation, which overwhelmed Chelsea in the Champions League with a central-midfielder playing in the left-sided position.

However, having seen their club miss out on the likes of Clint Dempsey and Gylfi Sigurdsson already this season due to the mere presence of other clubs marking their interest in the players, the news will hardly fill Liverpool fans with confidence that Armero will eventually strut his stuff at Anfield under the eyes of the Kop.
