      Greening signs in at Barnsley

Barnsley have signed Jonathan Greening on loan according to BBC Sport to make it a hat-trick of former Nottingham Forest players signed in under a week.  Greening, the ex Manchester United midfielder has signed for the Tykes from Nottingham Forest on loan until 2nd January.

He is the second Forest player to switch from the County ground to Oakwell after Marcus Tudgay moved last week.  The Forest pair are also joined at Barnsley by loan signing Emile Snclair from Peterborough, himself a former Nottingham Forest striker.

Greening who won the Champions League with Manchester United joined Nottingham Forest from Fulham last summer but has been restricted to just three starts this season.  He joins what appears to be a mini revolution at the Yorkshire club and could go straight into the first team this weekend, making his debut against Cardiff.  When describing Greening's potential role in the team Keith Hill said, "I'm looking for Jonathan to be our handbrake on the enthusiasm we have, someone to control things, to instil an intelligent energy and bring everything together."  He went on to say, "He has an abundance of ability, a mentality that is Premier League, it's not something that you lose."

Barnsley, currently 20th in the Championship, are winless in their last six games and Keith Hill, who recently hasn't been able to see the wood for the trees is hoping that the former men from the Forest will give his team the shake up they need.  Hoping for a root and branch reform at the club, he has turned over a new leaf.  Let's hope it works better than these puns.
