Mowbray named Manager of the Month for October

Tony Mowbray fought off Kenny Jackett of Millwall and Sean O’Driscoll of Nottigham Forest to become October’s Manager of the Month.

The Boro manager has had a successful season so far as his side sit 3rd in the Championship. During October Middlesbrough won five and drew one meaning an unbeaten month was enough to see Mowbray claim the prize.

Mowbray’s recent achievement is his third Manger of the Month award since he rejoined Boro to help them push for a place back in the Premiership.

Although Middlesbrough’s eight game unbeaten run ended today in a 1-0 away defeat to second place Cardiff, the side from Teesside have cemented their place in the play-offs and are only just out of the automatic promotion spots.

Mowbray praised his team and staff whilst collecting the award and is pleased with the run that the club had to help them reach the heights they are at, at the moment.

In current circumstances the murmur around the Riverside stadium will be, “This could be our year” as the Boro look to end a three year absence from the Premier league.
