      Lights out for Wayne Hennessey

He has been out since April but Wales shot stopper Wayne Hennessey is set to be out for even longer yet.

According to a statement on the Wolves website Hennessey has suffered a major setback to his recovery from cruciate ligament damage in his knee as he is to undergo yet another operation to help cure the problem.

It’s a real shame for Wolves and certainly Hennessey as for a keeper at such a young age of just 25 he has a huge future ahead of him providing he can recover from this current injury.

The Welshmen had claimed the number one shirt for his national side and was showing some good performances between the sticks, but unfortunately he has opened the door for other keepers to claim the top shot stopper spot for Wales.

As we all know when a keeper gets injured it’s hard for them to find their place back in the side as managers like consistency in defence and if the reserve keeper comes in and makes a good claim to be the number one keeper then the keeper that has been injured may be forced to stay on the bench. This may be the case for Hennessey.

Regardless of this it appears Wayne is staying strong and focused on getting fit again to ensure he is back for April and that he will be able to have a full pre season to prepare for a comeback ready for  the start of next season.
