A new year’s revolution for Crewe

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has warned the world that his search for a midfieder is on…In January.

Alex are on a good run of form of late, beating Doncaster and Colchester in their last two outings, but his feeble midfield is clear for all to see, and rather than looking for loan signings to act as a stop gap, the gaffer wants to secure some permanent moves in January.

      So, the hunt is on.

Will it be contestant number one, Salif Diou; A big, strong centre midfielder who is out of contract. Diou would rip League One opposition to shreds with his brute force, although his lack of actual talent could be a problem.

Will it be contestant number two, Ryan Harley; An incredible passer of the ball, but that’s it. No fight, no hunger and no effort in the ginger’s play, but he could be on the cheap as he hasn’t featured for Gus Poyet’s Brighton this season.

Or finally, could it be contestant number three, Grant McCann; a player with obvious quality but with a torso that mirrors Razor Ruddock’s. McCann was transfer listed back in April along with 7 other Peterborough players and despite being a regular this season for Posh, he might welcome a fresh start with a new club.*

*There is a high possibility that none of these will happen.
