Managerless Wolfsburg hoping to appoint new general manager

Wolfsburg are hoping to entice Klaus Allofs to become their new general manager according to ESPN.  Allofs who scored 177 goals during 15 seasons as a player is currently at Werder Bremen where he has been the general manager for 13 years.  Wolfsburg, Bundesliga champions in 2009, are currently 16th just four points above the relegation zone.  They have been without a manager since Felix Magath was sacked at the end of last month by the club's owners, Volkswagen.

Allofs' first job will be to appoint a new manager, then begin the rebuilding process and get the club towards the right end of the league.

To help seal the deal maybe the owners could schmooze him over a game of Golf, take him on a Touran of the stadium, then they'll just have to hope he doesn't Passat on the chance to help them out.
