Rio offers no guarantees for contract extension

One would have thought that given his form, Rio Ferdinand would have snapped up any contract offer from Manchester United that was on the table.

However, the Daily Mail are reporting that what now must be defined (sorry Rio) as the former England international and captain has refused to commit himself to a new deal to stay at Old Trafford beyond the end of this season.

There are even reports that Rio could be set to retire off into the sunset. Word of warning Rio, don't become a TV star. "Rio's World Cup Wind Ups" was bad enough.
