£8M Wickham set to leave Sunderland on loan

Money doesn't go very far these days however splashing out £8million on a striker that has only scored one goal so far for your club isn't exactly matching up to the price tag.

However Connor Wickham has time on his side – and plenty of it. The 19 year old England U-21 striker could benefit from a loan spell down in the Championship perhaps at his former club Ipswich town.

It remains to be seen whether Wickham will be able to match up to his potential ability however his role in the Sunderland first team is very marginal and perhaps one step back could lead to two steps forward. Which is not the conventional walking method however still takes you in the right direction.
