      Pardew denies Cabaye rumours

The summer transfer window is a magical time of conjecture without evidence and rumours without substance and the wonderment continues now into Winter over whether a transfer could have happened thanks to the never ending need for football rumours.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Alan Pardew has denied that Newcastle received a bid for Yohan Cabaye from Tottenham Hotspur.

The French midfielder excelled for the Toon last season in a shining debut season and the 26-year-old has stated he received a bid from Spurs to replace Luka Modric in the summer.

However, Pardew has stated that this did not happen and no bids at all were made for his French midfielder but added he wouldn't be surprised if top clubs are monitoring him.
