      Connolly wants Leeds Exit

After falling down the pecking order at Elland Road, and then having his loan spell at League One outfit Portsmouth cut short, Paul Connolly is back to full fitness and is eager for a fresh start.

Connolly started his playing career down in sunny Plymouth, where he played for Argyle over 160 times. His contract expired and he decided to take a hike up north to Paul Jewell’s Derby County, where he established himself as a first team stalwart and even became captain, but when the bore-fest Nigel Clough took over at Pride Park, Connelly quickly fell back down the slippery slope that was angled towards the bench.

After a loan spell at Sheffield United in 2010, the Liverpool-born defender decided to move to Leeds United on a free transfer after Simon Grayson managed to tempt him to the club with some chips ‘n’ gravy. Connolly made 58 appearances for Leeds Leeds Leeds, before he was told to look for another club by Neil Warnock, who had by then taken over as manager.

Connolly decided to escape Yorkshire for the  beautiful south Portsmouth, but due to an unfortunate injury he had to return to Leeds.

He is now fit and ready for a move away from the Whites, after all, it’s reet grim up north.
