Pardew losing his transfer mojo?

Life has been pretty nice up in Tyneside of late. Newcastle achieved above and beyond expectation last season and that was by and large down to a number of excellent signings. Yep- the Toon Army must be feeling decidedly confident about their leader’s transfer dealings at the moment…
Lorient forward Jeremie Aliadiere is being targeted by Alan Pardew to strengthen his firing line, talkSPORT reported.
Wait. Did you just say Jeremie Aliadiere? Is that the French bloke who used to play for Arsenal?
That’s the one. The 29 year old striker has scored a grand total of 18 goals throughout his career, which has also included a three year spell at Middlesbrough and loan spells at Celtic, West Ham (with Pardew) and Wolves.
Aliadiere’s career has largely been clouded by injury, but the Frenchman has managed to put together a run of games this season and netted 3 goals in 7 games.
Pardew would be looking for Aliadiere to make a similar impact to his previous two strikers signed, Demba Ba and Papisse Cisse, who were an instant success in the black and white shirt and continue to serve the Geordie faithful well.
Let’s hope for Pardew’s sake that he hasn’t lost his magic touch. But this sure does look like a risky one.
