    Stoke plot audacious striker swoop

Stoke City are set to make an audacious January swoop for powerful Southampton front-man Rickie Lambert, according to the Sun. The 30-year-old has been a bright spot in a somewhat dreary campaign for Saints, having netted four times in seven games for the South Coast club.

Potters boss Pulis has been impressed with the contribution of Lambert this season and feels he could be a shrewd acquisition to his Stoke squad. Saints will be loathe to losing their star striker, but could welcome any deal, which is likely to see Kenwyne Jones return to the St. Mary’s Stadium.
