      Giroud has found some confidence

It is what French striker Oliver Giroud has needed to get him back in goalscoring form, an important goal that has got his team a late point. Giroud managed to score one of these goals on Tuesday when he scored a late equaliser against World and European champions Spain to level the match 1-1.

Arsene Wenger had faith in Giroud when he signed him from Montpellier in the summer and he felt that the French striker had the potential to become a Premiership great. With likeness to Fabio Borini at Liverpool Oliver Giroud’s Arsenal career has had a slow start and things hadn’t been going right for him.

This has all changed since he scored in the 1-3 away win at West Ham when he scored his first goal for the Gunners. Now he has scored again for France Giroud believes he is finding his confidence again to when he had it last year in Ligue 1 when he helped former team Montpellier win the title.

As a striker that has recently joined the Premiership from abroad you certainly feel some weight has been lifted of your shoulders when you get your first goal early on for your new team. Giroud feels no different to that as he feels now he isn’t under as much pressure. But at the same time he understands he needs to keep scoring goals to prove his worth.

Giroud and the rest of the French team showed great belief to draw level against Spain so late on in the match. It gave Spain a wake up call that no match should be taken lightly despite being the best team in the world.
