Martin Jol still wants a midfielder, Sunderland set to sign a Scotland international and the rest of Tuesday's gossip.
Sunderland are poised to sign 29-year-old Scotland forward James McFadden, a free agent since being released by Everton at the end of last season, after he impressed during a trial with the Black Cats.
Martin Jol wants to bring in French-born Senegal midfielder Mickael Tavares to shore up Fulham's midfield. The 29-year-old, who had a loan spell at Middlesbrough, is a free agent.
Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady, 26, has revealed he dreams of ending his career with a return to former club Celtic.
Former Celtic, Manchester United and Barcelona striker Henrik Larsson is the shock new name being considered by Blackburn to replace Steve Kean. Larsson has told Swedish side Landskrona he will not renew his managerial contract when the season ends next month.
