      England set to take the Michael?

      England's lack of defensive options ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifiers with San Marino and Poland have been laid bare by Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen who according to the Mirror, believes that Michael Mancienne could be the answer to Roy Hodgson's dilemmas with Glen Johnson suspended and John Terry now retired from international football.

      Yes, that Michael Mancienne who was the next brightest thing at Chelsea for about five years before only accomplishing a couple of underwhelming loan spells at Wolves. Yes, that Michael Mancienne who played so "superbly" as captain in the European Under-21 championships in 2011 under Stuart Pearce where he manfully led his country to a first round exit at the hands of the mighty Czech Republic. Yes, that Michael Mancienne....who now plays for, you guessed it, Arnesen's club Hamburg.
