Spurs deny Rovers in Sherwood approach

Tottenham Hotspur have refused Blackburn Rovers permission to speak with Tim Sherwood over the vacant manager position at Ewood Park, Sky Sports News is reporting. The Championship side have been without a manager following the resignation of Steve Kean last month.

Rovers had been keen to speak to Sherwood about the possibility to succeeding Kean, but Spurs have denied them the chance to speak to the former club captain. The Lancashire outfit will now look to appoint a new man to the helm over the coming weeks, with Alan Shearer one of the favourites for the role.
