Shock move for Man Utd captain on the cards?

Sir Alex Ferguson's ruthless streak appears to know no bounds with the Daily Star reporting that Nemanja Vidic will be the next in a long list to face Fergie's iron fist, with Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala eyeing a big-money move for the Manchester United captain.

Vidic has of course had injury problems of late and after making his return from a long-term knee injury this season, was made to look pedestrian by the likes of Rickie Lambert no less. Indeed, the torrid time handed to Vidic by the Southampton striker eventually resulted in the defender being forced to go back under the knife.

That move appears to have signalled to Ferguson the end of his captain's career and with Anzhi prepared to splash millions on someone like Christopher Samba, you can be sure that for a player of Vidic's calibre, United would be sure to receive an outrageous fee.
