      Rodgers keeps tabs on Hooper

Fabio Borini's long-term injury has left Brendan Rodgers scrabbling around in his quest to add more striking power to his squad. Thus, the news according to talkSPORT that the Northern Irishman has set his sights on Gary Hooper may come as a worry to Liverpool fans already worrying about the direction of the club.

Hooper has proven himself to be a fine player in the Scottish Premier League and indeed his performances in the Champions League this season have even led to calls for him to be included in the England squad. However, the clue is possibly in the league mentioned: the Scottish Premier League, a league that fails to even include Rangers anymore.

When Rodgers arrived at the club he spoke of it's stature as one of the biggest in the world. Since then, he has signed a raft of young players and a former Chelsea reserve.

It's about time he started acting upon his words.
