Montolivo gunning for Arsenal transfer

Fiorentina star Riccardo Montolivo is believed to prefer a move to the Premier League and Arsenal.

The 26 year-old has been linked with switches to fellow Italian side AC Milan and English champions Manchester United.

But reports from Italy suggest that the playmaker would rather choose a move to the Emirates, should Arsene Wenger start to push a deal when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Montolivo has 29 caps for the Italian national side, and is widely regarded as one of the best players in Serie A.

But if the rumours are too believed, the former Atalanta man is ready for a new challenge in England, with a club who fits in to his style of play.

And Arsenal’s passing football would complement the ball-playing skills of the midfielder perfectly.
