Helguson admits home win was vital

QPR striker Heidar Helguson has claimed the victory over local rivals Chelsea was critical for momentum with a "tough run of games" lined up.

Helguson scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over their fellow South-West counterparts, but the Icelandic international insisted that the three points at home was more important for the team. The R's had failed to win at Loftus Road in the Premier League before Chelsea's visit.

"More importantly than me scoring was us getting the win because we really needed a home win - it's been a while!" he told QPR's official site

"It was good that it came against them because we are going into a tough run of games now, so to win the first one was great."

Manager Neil Warnock will assemble his troops as the team prepare to take on Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Sunday's clash could see Warnock's side cement themselves in the top ten.
