    Was Nasri a necessity?

The start to Arsenal’s current season has been well documented throughout the media. Defeats to Liverpool, Blackburn, Tottenham and Manchester United left fans staring into the the abyss that was left at the Emirates by the departures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas.

Spare a thought for Nasri ?

Our ex wonder boy Samir Nasri got a good booing every time the ball went within 5 yards of him on Tuesday.  He later tried to substitute himself ... without success.  And at the end is said to have benefited from an interesting discussion with hard boy Iroquois Frimpong in the tunnel. My money would be on Frimpong (!)

Is RVP The Premier League’s MVP?

If you stopped the average football fan in the street and asked him who the best player in England has been this season, I expect he would say David Silva. Rafael Van Der Vaart might get a mention, as might Luis Suarez or Wayne Rooney. However in my opinion, one player stands head and shoulders above the rest – and that player is Robin Van Persie.

City Beat Villa, Now Time For Real-Villa...I mean Villarreal

Ok City fans, dust off your Aston Villa celebrations and get ready for the first game in what could possibly define our whole season. Ok so the Manchester derby is coming too early for it to make or break a title challenge but certainly is still a big game. The biggest however takes place at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday as City look to put their Champions League campaign back on track

    Bell lee summerbee

I know that it is far to early to be comparing the new three of David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri to the legendary trio that were Bell, Lee and Summerbee but it is quite fun to look at the similarities between the two trio. Also, as a side note I understand that Mancini is no Mercer and that the game of football has changed since those glory days, but I am writing this so just go along with me.

Five things Wenger should have done this summer

Let’s be honest, in more ways than one the sun never really turned up in North London this summer. And for Arsene Wenger, the disappointments of the last few months have seen his decisions come under very close inspection from the media and fans alike. So what should Mr. Wenger really have done?

    Wenger must go?

You could also argue that he has changed the youth system at the club and give it 3 or 4 years and Arsenal will be atop the league with an average age of 13. How often though have you heard that with Arsenal? For years and years I have heard that amazing players will come through and dominate the team but since then Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey are the only key players to emerge from the youth setup.

Why Arsenal’s humiliation at Old Trafford might be a good thing for the Gunners

Wow. What a week it’s been for Arsenal. I think it’s fair to say that business is starting to pick up at the Emirates.

    North London in mourning

First was the absolute slaughter of Arsenal. To say I was shocked was an understatement and I’m no Gooner. The 8-2 thrashing of Arsenal was very telling. The 2-5 drubbing if Tottenham even more so. A quick glance of the Premier league table shows Manchester Utd occupying first spot, Manchester City in second and Liverpool and Chelsea occupying third and fourth respectively. The top two have a combined goal difference of 19.

    Udinese mirror the Arsenal situation

It was a tense and nervy affair in North London on Tuesday night, Arsenal just doing enough to ensure they will travel Udine next week with a lead in tow, a slender one at that, but as the bandwagon has been so quick to point out, a relieving reward for a disjointed performance so far away removed from the cavalier Arsenal that has become the domestic neutral’s best friend in recent years.

Wenger set to cash in on fringe players

A summer clearout at the Emirates looks inevitable with reports this morning suggesting Nicklas Bendtner is set for the exit door. Bendtner is one of many linked with a move away from the club, Emmanuel Eboue, Denilson and Carlos Vela will all be sold in the summer to generate extra funds for new recruits in the summer.
