    An appraisal for the Arsenal

As a trainee journalist it is essentially my responsibility to report on events in an impartial way and tell both sides of the story. Today will be the one exception.

English football still searching for Silva lining

"Jack Wilshere is incredible because he is so young. We also need the experience of John Terry, Rio Ferdinand and Scott Parker. "You need this kind of player, plus Rooney, I hope.": Fabio Capello-October 20th 2011.

Should Mello Capello Leave Out Looney Rooney?

So a slight detour from everything Manchester City but I am amazed by the news coming out of the media regarding Wayne Rooneys ban. Lampard must accept new role for the team

Basel first to seize on United’s defensive vulnerability

On the night their dear neighbours faced a daunting coming of age over in Germany in the Champions League, Manchester United faced a rather ordinary looking tie at home to Basel, the Champions of Switzerland who have never qualified for the knockout stages of the competition that Sir Alex Ferguson claimed on the dawn on the tie was the “greatest in the world”.

    Chelsea FC: Frank-ly too old?

There’s growing evidence that Premier League teams are starting to introduce their youth players. Manchester United started with Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley, Arsenal had Emmanuel Frimpong, Aston Villa called-up Barry Bannan and Liverpool still play Jamie Carragher.

As Chelsea look set to complete the signing of Valencia playmaker, Juan Mata and continue in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Modric, The Blues’ long-awaited summer rebuild finally looks underway. With further investment in youth seeing Oriol Romeu join from Barcelona and Anderlecht’s Romelu Lukaku making his long-awaited move to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas will be looking to usher in a new era at the club.
