    Giroud review. (Video)

And so, the wait is over! Oli Giroud has finally found the net in a Premier League game for the Arsenal. Hooray!

Boy it was worth it wasn't it? No? OK just me. Eitehr way I feel that we should take a moment to reflect and revel in the greatness that is Olivier Giroud. We knew he had it in him and now, he is finally not a tabloid target of humility and giggle-arity.

    Carl Jenkinson- The Corporal

8th June, 2011. Arsene Wenger signs a little known Right back from Charlton Athletic, who barely featured in Charlton’s League 1 campaign; in fact, he was on loan at Eastbourne Borough a lot of the season. So why, when the club was crying out for quality in Midfield with the imminent departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, was an untried full back being brought in?

What are Vela's chips? Nacho chips! (Video)

Carlos Vela's career didn't quite work out at Arsenal. A talented individual, yes, but he just didn't show enough to warrant a place in the first X1 on a consistent basis.

Frimpong ready to make his mark (Video)

With all the attention on Jack Wilshere’s return to first team action and rightly so after 14 months without being seen anywhere near a football pitch, it’s somewhat gone under the radar that playing in the same Arsenal under-21 match at West Brom having indeed returned in last week’s league cup victory over Coventry was Emmanuel Frimpong.

Chelsea find the net through Mertesacker shaped hole (Video)

Arsenal have now conceded 3 goals this term and all of which have come from set pieces.

The goal at City was down to zonal marking which is new to these Gunners, however the two at Chelsea were easily avoidable.

The first was a floated ball in and Torres somehow escaped the clutches of Larry Kos to flick it in. How? Because Kos was too busy trying to stop him and wrestle him to the floor instead of smashing the ball away or making the header. If Torres hadn't have scored, he would almost certainly have won a pen. Credit to him for staying on his feet in fact.

Gervinho continues progression in forward position (Video)

Gervinho can be a frustrating player to watch at the best of times, so performances like his one at Manchester City last weekend where the Ivorian’s shooting was off-key to say the least, would always bring criticism from Arsenal fans used to seeing the lethal likes of Thierry Henry, Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin Van Persie in the forward position.

    Arsenal to claim third

Following the departures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas last summer transfer window, the news that club Captain Robin Van Persie was to leave the Emirates came as no real surprise; however his destination angered most Arsenal fans.

Theo Walcott is a central striker (Video)

Theo Walcott made the headlines this week by telling the BBC what he sees as common knowledge, that his unwillingness to sign a new deal was not down to money or at least not solely, but due to a desire to play in his preferred position of central striker

    Stars under the lights (video)

Tonight 60,000 fans will head to the Emirates stadium to watch Arsenal.  If this isn’t impressive enough, they’re playing a 3rd round league cup-tie.  Still not impressed, they’re playing a team two leagues below them and they’ll be fielding a team mainly made up of teenagers who have a handful of first team starts between them.

Celebrations aren’t what they used to be (video)

In the aftermath of the first taste of Champions League we’ve had in a long time, much was made of José Mourinho’s knee slide. It was truly one of the best managerial celebrations in recent years.  However I put this down to the lack of decent celebrations more than the specialness of the Special One.

Gunner’s Game on Sunday creates new Football cliché.

So far this season Arsenal have made a start to the season that has won them many admirers and given fans a newfound belief that their team can challenge for silverware.  Despite this impressive start, pundits are warning that we should not be so quick to compliment Mr Wenger’s new look side, and perhaps they’re right.

    Oli G needs some Va-Va-Voom

4 appearances - 0 goals. That is all the papers are focussing on.

Not the fact that Arsenal as a team are streets ahead of where they were last season. This time last year, the Gunners had shipped 10 goals (8 of which occured at Old Trafford - a debut to forget for The Ox), seen their new signing red carded on his debut and barely squeeked past Swansea 1-0. Not to mention that they were heading for defeat at eventually relegated Blackburn the following weekend...

Cazorla and Arteta: the Hispanic Petit and Vieira?

For all the criticism heaped on Arsene Wenger for his tendacy to be reluctant when it comes to spending big in the transfer market, it is forgotten that the Frenchman is as shrewd they come when identifying the finest European talent available.

Where does Walcott fit in? (Video)

After the introduction of the new Arsenal players Carzorla, Podolski and Giroud, along with the departure of his good friends Robin van Persie and Alex Song, a few question marks are appearing over and probably in Theo Walcott's head.
