Star Of The Future Linked With Anfield Move - Why The Reds Could Sign Belgium Youngster

Liverpool went so close to winning their first ever Premier League title last season that many fans now expect their side to push on and finally achieve it next year.  A campaign that would otherwise have been deemed incredible ended in disappointment for the Reds, as they capitulated at the end of April with the trophy virtually in their grasp.

Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic have all arrived at Anfield for a total cost of around £60 million, but most of the £75 million received from the sale of star striker Luis Suarez is still believed to be available to Brendan Rodgers.  According to the Express, some of that could be set to be spent on Belgian teenager Zakaria Bakkali.

Bakkali made his debut for Belgium’s senior side last October at the tender age of 17, having represented his country at various youth levels.  When someone so young appears on the international stage it is normally a sign of the player’s enormous potential, something Liverpool will be hoping he can fulfil with them.

With just one full season at PSV Eindhoven under his belt, Bakkali is clearly a player for the future, but that does not mean he could not play a part for the Reds in the upcoming campaign.  Several other top European clubs have been linked with the highly-rated youngster, and Liverpool could be getting a real gem if they manage to sign him.
