Arsenal Outsiders To Sign Free Striker With 100 Premier League Goals - Would It Be A Good Move?

If I said to you that Arsenal were looking to sign a striker who had scored 100 Premier League goals in 226 games, had won three Premier League titles and the Champions League. How does that sound? What if I told you that he was also available on a free? You'd probably ask me what the catch is. Well, the player I am referring to is Didier Drogba, who spent eight seasons carving a hero status for himself at Chelsea.

    Hear me out.

I noticed that Sky Bet had made the Gunners outsiders to sign the Ivory Coast forward, pricing them at 33/1 and I originally scoffed at the idea. But having had a think, I think they could do a lot worse than him.

Considering he is out of contract this summer and the physical presence that he provides, I think it could be a very shrewd signing.

He scores goals, can lead the line on his own and I think he would be beneficial to the slight, creative players that would be playing around him.

Arsenal fans, what do you reckon?

There are two former Chelsea strikers up for grabs for free this summer. One is 33 one is 36. Eto'o is the better option for us. Drogba might be good if he was considering a coaching role at the end of the next season. But in terms of strikers we could use for a few seasons Eto'o is the better option.

How about doing something crazy... take both of them. Bring them both in with the understanding that they will get playing time but they are there to help mentor the younger players (particularly the strikers, like Sanago and even Villa if we grab him). Of course this will never happen. Its just not how football works, but its exactly what they do in American football all the time. Bring in a veteran Quarter Back to mentor the young players. In the event of injury, you still have a quality back up.

not going to happen,Drogba to chelsea is like Cesc or Henry(no where near as good as henry) to arsenal, he will not return to the prem with anyother club, if he does it will only be chelsea. Drogba is an old athlete with 2 or 3 seasons left in him max, he will want to play for any team to get some money before retiring like sagna, and he will probably go to some chinese, arabic or australian league to earn the extra dollars. MY best prediction is, he will go to the MLS and play with NYC.FC as they will be looking for some legends to get a bigger fan base. Not going to happen.

MY GRANDAD FOUGHT IN THE WAR HOW ABOUT HIM
