Chelsea Favourites To Sign Wayne Rooney - Why He Would Be The Perfect Signing For Blues

Wayne Rooney is still under the age of 30, just, and has over 500 club appearances to his name, has scored 232 goals and has 38 goals in 89 games for the England national side. That's some record, bearing in mind he also has 12 major trophies with Manchester United. Sky Bet have got Manchester United fans worried, though, as they have made Chelsea favourites to sign the forward this summer.

In my opinion, Rooney is perfect for the Blues.

He has the physical edge to his game that Chelsea need and has the goals to back it up. He is a proven goal scorer at the very top of world football and is a home grown player - something that is becoming more important every season for Champions League clubs.

Following on from that, United aren't even in Europe next season.

Rooney can play in a flexible role to the left or behind the striker, but thrives when given the lone forward role. He played 29 league games, scored 10 and notched eight assists, with another two goals and five assists in the Champions League.

I think he would be the perfect signing for Jose Mourinho's men.

I would love Rooney to be signed but for the right price, 40 million. He is passed his best now so it's time to trade him in for stupid money.
