Scouting Report: Manchester United Linked With £15m Premier League Midfielder, But What Could He Offer?

Hands up, who thinks Manchester United have a problem in midfield? Yep, that's all of us. David Moyes has struggled in the central areas of his side today but according to the Mirror, he will move for Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin in the summer, in a deal worth £15m. But who is he, what can he offer, and where would he fit in?

First of all, the 24-year-old has three years left on his current deal at St Mary's. He is a holding midfielder who uses his tactical intelligence to position himself in the way of opposition attacks, and in a way that he can break them down.

This season he has averaged 3.7 tackles per game, 2.1 interceptions and 1.6 clearances. Tally them up and he is averaging over seven defensive actions per game. He has also completed almost 90% of his passes.

He's not the most agile of players, but he's quick across the floor and is willing to work hard for the team.

For me he would be a good signing.  With him and Michael Carrick sitting in the defensive pivots it would allow a front four to go and do their thing without having to worry about getting back.

    Sign him up, Moyes.
