Three Key Battles To Look Out For In Manchester United vs Bayern Munich

Manchester United play hosts to Bayern Munich tonight in the Champions League. Here are three key battles to look out for during the clash.
1) Rooney vs Martinez
Rooney is one of few Manchester United players who is able to win a game for the club, and I think tonight is one of the biggest games of his career. His performance could make or break United tonight, and he will probably be up against Javi Martinez, who is primarily a central midfielder.
Rooney has the agility over the Spaniard and could squeeze some space out of the rest of the defenders by pulling them out of position. Can Martinez stand up to Rooney?
2) Rafael vs Ribery
Rafael is a player who loves to push up the field, while Franck Ribery won the award for the third best player in the world at the start of the year. Ribery has the pace and the trickery to beat the best full-backs in the world, and Rafael certainly isn't one of those.
His tackling is rash and he can be found out against stronger opposition so it will be intriguing whether or not he can contain the France international.
3) Lahm vs Kagawa
Kagawa could be reinstated into his favoured position behind the striker and it will be Lahm who will sit in front of the back four and look to pick the Japan international off. Kagawa is quick and can tear a team apart with a pass or a simple drop of the shoulder, while Lahm is one of the most experienced players on the European stage.
