Manchester United May Be Underdogs But They CAN Beat Bayern - Here's Why

Ryan Giggs has told BBC Sport that Manchester United do not feel like ‘underdogs’ as they head into tonight’s Champions League game against the reigning European champions Bayern Munich.

On paper, this two-legged tie will end in a landslide in favour of the German giants. They have, rather remarkably, become even stronger under the leadership of Pep Guardiola and are on track to end the season with five trophies to their name.

On the other hand, the Red Devils, to put it lightly, have had a campaign to forget. This competition remains their only hope of ending the season with a major honour and they will have to increase their performance levels tenfold to take the prized scalp of the Bavarians.

However, I believe United can overcome the might of Munich on what could be one of those unforgettable evenings at Old Trafford. Giggs has stated that United are confident as they head into the game and you should never write off a team that has enjoyed copious amounts of success over the years.

The red half of Manchester have nothing to lose and will be hoping the 40-year-old can produce another masterclass like he did in the second leg against Olympiakos.

In recent weeks David Moyes’ side have failed to deliver at home against their two biggest rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Could it be third time lucky?
