90% Pass Success, Eight Clearances: Fellaini Stars As Manchester United Crush Baggies

Having a thick skin is a must as a professional footballer. Despite the huge amounts of money ploughed into your bank account you will need to put up with the constant stick, which Marouane Fellaini knows all about from his time at Manchester United this season.

He was used to being a main player at Everton but he has struggled to find his feet at Old Trafford but today was his day, as far as I'm concerned. The Red Devils ploughed through West Brom at the Hawthorns this afternoon and he was the man running things from the centre of the pitch.

His passing was superb - he attempted 71 passes during the game and completed 64 of those giving him a 90% pass success, while he also made five interceptions.

He made his presence felt in the air by winning all four of his headers and he also chipped in defensively with eight clearances.

The way he carried the ball suggested that he was full of confidence and that he was ready to take the game to the opposition rather than letting the game pass him by.

He has had to endure some stick over the last couple of months but I think it's now time that United fans rallied round him and give him the credit that he deserves.

Yes to be fair to him he's suffered bad luck with injuries since moving from Everton, but does seem to have come back much stronger and settled since his last enforced lay off. If he can keep putting in solid midfield performances he'll make a place in the starting line up his own every match.

I've always felt that Fellaini has all the tools needed to be a good defensive midfielder. If he can just work on his shooting, then we could have another Yaya Toure on our hands.
