Liverpool battle for Bundesliga star with 12 goals and 8 assists in 22 games - Player Report

Liverpool are one of seven clubs being linked with Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian has rose to prominence this season, outscoring the likes of Arjen Robben and Marco Reus playing in a free role for the Bundesliga outfit.

Liverpool apparently face tough competition from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan but should he move to Anfield in the summer, Firmino could be a perfect addition to Brendan Rodgers' side.

Firmino is the 5th highest scorer in the Bundesliga so far this season, scoring 12 goals and assisting 8 in just 22 games for 10th-placed Hoffenheim. The 22-year old primarily plays in a central attacking midfield position but is also clinical roaming down the left and right flanks.

After joining Hoffenheim for just over £3m back in 2011, a bid in the region of £13m is likely to secure Firmino's signature, and Liverpool would be foolish not to make a move and add depth to a thin squad looking to challenge on all fronts next season.

Champions League qualification would boost the Reds' chances of securing the former Figueirense man, who could provide competition for fellow Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho and would surely shine in Brendan Rodgers sleek passing, free-scoring Liverpool side.

An attacking formation alongside the likes of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge could see Firmino flourish and develop in one of the hottest prospects in European football.

Liverpool fans, would Firmino be welcome at Anfield or should Rodgers look for reinforcements elsewhere?
