Chelsea Linked With 'Best Young Central Defender In The World' - Here's Why The Move Would Be A Good One For The Blues

Chelsea fans, if I was to tell you that Jose Mourinho is after the best young centre-back in the world, you'd be excited, wouldn't you? Well, according to reports in the Mirror, the Portuguese boss has hinted that he will make a move for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane in the summer, and has described him as just that. In my eyes it would be the perfect move.

The young Frenchman is a player who is highly rated at the Santiago Bernabeu and has already gone onto make five appearances for the senior national side.

Still only 20, the former Lens man has racked up 30 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos and another 27 in other competitions. This season he has eight appearances to his name and has completed 89% of his passes overall, which would see him fit well into Jose Mourinho's current system at Chelsea, and also next to Kurt Zouma  who is coming into the club in the summer.

The pair are both big, strong players who like to get the ball down, and although they would have big shoes to fill with John Terry and Gary Cahill  performing brilliantly this season, the certainly have the potential to surpass them.

For me it's the perfect move.
