THREE Tottenham Players Who Should Be Dropped After Liverpool Defeat

Tottenham travelled to Liverpool this weekend knowing that it would be an incredibly difficult task. It started horrifically, too, and Liverpool ended up winning the game 4-0, leaving Spurs eight points behind fourth place. After a dismal performance, here are three players who should lose their place in the side.

    1) Aaron Lennon

I'm not sure what the little winger actually does. He cannot cross, he fails to beat his man and doesn't track back - all three of those faults were evident yesterday afternoon. It took me about 35 minutes to realise he was even playing.

For me there are plenty of stronger choices to take his place and he is taking up valuable space in the side.

    2) Younes Kaboul

Kaboul had a nightmare yesterday. His early own goal was only the start of it - he was continually out of position, struggled to keep hold of the ball and allowed Luis Suarez to beat him and score the second goal.

If there is another option for Sherwood then Kaboul would be the first defender I took out.

    3) Kyle Naughton

Naughton is no longer a promising youngster, nor is he an able Premier League full-back. He was ripped to shreds by Glen Johnson and those who attacked down his side, and it was painful just to watch him try and stop them going past.

For me he should be dropped, permanently.

I'd rather have Kaboul in than Vertonghen [ for now ] Who do you put in in place of Naughton? I would if poss recall Fredericks from Millwall but he still has a lot to learn - he's going to be good but it may be too early for him. We need a complete overhaul of the back 4 - i.e. 6 new players
Rose Naughton Vertonghen Kaboul will all go in the summer together with a few more!

It was Rose who was ripped to shreds by Johnson, not Naughton

Lennon has his faults but not tracking back is not one of them

This all goes back to the start of the season. the players brought in were not vetted properly and although its always a bit hit and miss with new players, these were quite frankly mostly poor imports. Most of last seasons players have been the equal (and mostly better) than the expensive new boys. Dembele is not the player we hoped he would be and should go, along with paulinho who has no pace whatsoever. Sadly, Soldado looks like a fish out of water and is another that should be put out of his misery. I would like to see Holby brought back for his sheer enthusiasm and energy, that was sherwoods first mistake. I feel a tad sorry for the manager as some players are showing signs of disinterest, Lennon is simply not rising to the challenge of a senior player with all his experience. A complete clear out is out of the question, but a serious cull is needed with 2 or 3 established boys coming in, can we not have a look at some home grown players too ?

No Soldado on this list? Bentaleb looks ok for the future but he can't be played every game when Dembele and Sandro are on the bench. Rather Kaboul than Vertonghen at the moment, Vertonghen seems to be very negative and I don't believe he was injured, he didn't want to play especially after not clearing that cross for the 1st goal.

apart from lloris bentaleb who else put in a shift against liverpool

Jan the man, out the door.I remember a certain player takin the shirt off and throwing it on the floor.what he did yesterday was as bad.he didn't care before he left the tunnel and walked off.he hasn't cared for a while now.he disrespected the shirt away fans team mates manager the lot.should never play for us again.another player out the door for a different reason, Dawson.no pace and I've seen car ferries turn quicker.

why is rose still playing left back he needs to be pushed into midfield with a quality full back behind him. if players want to leave ie paulinho, vertonghen, sandro, lamella let them go & get players in who want to play for us.get all the youngsters back for next season+plus a quality left back and a goal scorer with premier league experience. i would also get caulker back never should have been sold in the first place.

has townsend upset tim but dim, could it be that if you cross the ball properly track back do the defence side of your job you get dropped for that pratt lennon who does nothing for the side except stand and watch when he's lost the ball

Townsend is not really that good.

The first who should go is Vertonghen. Controversial I know as he is loved by so many Spurs fans, I honestly don't see why. Yesterday was the final straw, I don't actually think he was injured, he just didn't fancy it, in fact he hasn't fancied it for ages, to be honest, the least he could have done is acknowledged the away fans but no, he just walked down the tunnel without so much as a look.his body is there but his head isn't! Get rid now. Super Jan, my arse!

Dembele. Has always a lot to say but does he walk the walk?. Adebayor - five fingers up,- who Tim told to play is another hit or miss player! Vertonghen has gone backwards and has few good games, balls played behind him gives him a problem Could go through the whole team with similar comments!

Two words, one man: Tim Sherwood.

Spurs play with an inherent lack of movement off the ball, with no pressing worth mentioning from the midfield. Players are no longer being coached, and as a result they appear to no longer give a damn. What’s depressing is that under Sherwood every game is the same. There is no discernible plan, no cohesion, no obvious structure. Spurs have become anonymous. At least under AvB, there was a plan which as we saw was not suitable to the talents of the squad. With Sherwood there is no plan at all.

Against Liverpool the midfield consisted of playing Sigurdsson and Bentaleb in the middle. With Dembele and Sandro on the bench. This is akin to placing a rather modest “welcome” mat in the middle of the pitch. His most creative midfielder is stuck out wide. Asked to track the runs of the opponents full-back, something he's never done before, and a quality he doesn't have the discipline to do. All at the same time offering zero coverage to player who somehow ended up as the clubs only senior left-back.

A total of 45% of the goals Spurs have conceded this season have been due to an individual error or an own goal. The occasional gaffe can be put down to individual shortcomings, but complaints over consistent mistakes should be laid at the door of the manager. You can't just keep shrugging your shoulders when stupid mistakes keep being made, because your job is to address that and effect a change. But it does make sense, when you have a manager who uttered this amazing response to his coaching approach, "I like the defenders to defend, attackers to attack and the midfielders to do a bit of both. It's a simple game."

With his appointment you have to ask, "What is the purpose of Franco Baldini as technical director when he seemingly had no influence in the hiring of Tim Sherwood?" The way I look at this is, in hiring an inexperienced manager Spurs appear to have given up on £70M worth of players after 5 months. And that is unbelievably bizarre.

Being blunt is a must now. Sherwood is a charlatan who's been exposed by his own bravado and a baffling sense of entitlement. At this rate, I do not see Spurs winning anymore matches this season.

There's no wonder why Spurs are having a disappointing season. The team reflects the manager, which shows that there is a lack of a coherent club strategy.

How can you blame Kaboul when you have Rose and Vertonghen playing the way they are and the pass from Dawson for the 2nd goal. Lennon and Bentaleb are hopeless but dim likes them because they try, in my opinion they are very trying.

Everyone with the shirt on should be sweating blood for the cause....
No matter what position what the name...
Lose the ball bust a gut to win it back and stick your boot in for the tackle.
Own goal dont smile like a teenage girl - get angry and up your game.. Team mates give sloppy players a roasting .
How much do you earn ? professional sports men ? Or just limp wristed wanabees.
Get rid of Naughton Lennon Vertonghen Adebayor Rose . Mr Lewis , Mr Levy and Henchmen.
Recall Holtby , Livermore , Soldado with service will come good, Get Benteke and Carroll . Lescott
    A manager
A sheikh to bank roll it from then on

There is virus running through our Club from top to bottom. There is no antedote that can cure it. I have cotracted this virus as a supporter and I do not see any remedy for me. Our Club is in a shambles and this virus was first diagnosed when Levy sacked AVB. He is a shrewd negotiator and has made us very lucrative on the stock exchange. His decisions on who or who should not be Manager remains flawed and for that reason the Performance Management Review he would receive as CEO of a PLC would result in him being fired. Tim Sherwood as Manager was a disaster witing to happen. How he thought he could graduate from Coaching kids to this level demonstrates his own lack of judgement and that of Levy. Another year of nothingness for me as we meander slowly into the summer amid rumours of Bust Ups and fights, who is coming in , who is going out. I have been a supporter for more years than I can remember, hence Cheeky Gilly as my Author Name. A those far off days of Gilzean, Greaves, Big Chiv, all legends. Can we say this of this present crop.
