Arsenal MUST Move For Premier League Striker With 13 Goals This Season - Here's Why

It has been a very up and down season for Arsenal strikers this season. One minute they are being applauded by the fans, the next they are getting slaughtered. However, they seem to face more criticism than admiration. Olivier Giroud is certainly the most prominent in this argument and is the most disussed by the Gunners faithful.

With Yaya Sanogo being an unknown quantity and Nicklas Bendtner mocked by most, Giroud has had to face the brunt of abuse. But, Arsenal fans could be rescued from actively destroying Giroud as they could be welcoming in another French striker in the summer. ESPN are reporting that Loic Remy is ready to snub Tottenham Hotspur for Arsenal. This will obviously make his capture even sweeter for Gunners.

It would be a very wise move and one which I accept with open arms. The Frenchman has been a consistent goalscorer this season with 13 goals in 23 appearances. But stats aren't everything in the modern game, as we all know, which is good for Remy because he has the ability to match his stats.

The 27-year-old is quick, very quick in fact, and his fantastic movement off the ball means that he's a nightmare to defend against. Newcastle are creative but when you look at their supporting cast and then look at Arsenal's, it is acceptable to jump to the conclusion that he will have more oppotunities to score. It would be up to him to convert those chances.

The next, and last point, links in with my previous point about his pace and how effective it can be against defenders. In Arsenal's current system, what would be perfect for them is runners in and behind the defenders so Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla or whoever, can find them and create a one-on-one situation.

With Theo Walcott suffering from injury problems this season, as well as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Gunners haven't had that option available. None of the Arsenal strikers do. Loic Remy does; therefore he'll fit in the Arsenal system perfectly.

Which is why Arsenal need him as an option.
