Could Coentrao End Evra's Manchester United Career?

According the Daily Star, Manchester United will be offered Real Madrid misfit Fabio Coentrao this summer.

The Spanish outfit have decided to sell the Portugal defender, who came close to joining the Red Devils on loan before the beginning of the season.  They missed out on a deadline day deal for him this January, but it's reported Carlo Ancelotti is still willing to let the full-back go.

While Luke Shaw is likely to be the Manchester club’s priority when the window re-opens, Coentrao would prove a decent signing for David Moyes’ side.

What’s more, it is more than likely he would force veteran Patrice Evra out of the first team set-up. The ageing Frenchman has struggled for form over the past few seasons and he has increasingly become a liability in the United back-four.

Evra has been tipped to depart Old Trafford when his current contract expires at the end of the season and speculation regarding the transfer of Coentrao could prove the final nail in the coffin.

Little used this season by Carlo Ancelotti, the Portuguese defender will not be withheld if Real receive a satisfactory offer. Under contract until June 2017 with the capital outfit, he could be sold for no more than £10 million
