ARSENAL: Is 'Puzzled' Wenger Starting To Crack?

Following Saturday’s 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea, Arsenal as a football club are in the midst of a media blackout which they themselves engineered. But why?

Things got very bad, very fast for Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and with 70 minutes remaining the shell shocked players found themselves 3-0 down.

Nobody was expecting Wenger not to show up to the post-match press conference and cancel his next pre-game press conference for Swansea on Tuesday.

In his 17 years as Arsenal manager, no matter how bad it has been, the Frenchman has always ‘faced the music’, answered any question and tried to offer an explanation.

    But not this time.

At the time of writing, Arsenal have not commented, posted on social media or held press conferences in three days. Some fans are pleased and believe that the team will do it’s talking on the pitch on Tuesday.

But I think there is more to this. I think that match shook the manager and the players to their core, but more so the manager.

The team had shown fight and determination and at least scored against Manchester City, Bayern and Liverpool in other heavy defeats this season.

Although the manager and the players haven’t had contact with media, the club conducted an in-house interview with Wenger in which he was left “puzzled.”

I think another year of Champions League football and another FA Cup would be a fitting send off for Wenger and I think he saw on Saturday just how far he has fallen as an elite manager.

In my opinion, Arsene Wenger re-shaped English football when he arrived almost 20 years ago and despite popular belief I think he has changed. But not enough to continue as Arsenal manager.
