Mandzukic Arsenal Bound? 3 Reasons Why Bundesliga Ace Should Choose The Emirates

BBC gossip page cite a story Inside Futbol are running, suggesting that Bayern Munich forward Mario Mandzukic's agent is in London for talks with Arsenal and Chelsea. The news should excite those at both clubs, but here are three reasons why the Emirates should be his choice.

1) Style of play

The Croatia international is used to his side dominating proceedings and being the focal point of the attack. At Arsenal, they are crying out for a player to take some of the strain of Olivier Giroud and provide a physical presence up front.

With Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain the trio that would operate behind him, Mandzukic would have a huge amount of ammunition behind him to feed him chances.

2) Current options

As touched upon, Giroud is the only viable option for Arsene Wenger at present. The France international has scored 18 goals in his 37 games this season but has looked strained at points and is in need of a striker with real quality to come in and support him.

He'd certainly jump ahead of Giroud in the side should he join. Or at least I hope he would.

3) Arsene Wenger

You know what you are going to get from the Frenchman. He takes charge of his 1000th Arsenal game this weekend and has transformed the face of English football. He has secured Champions League football in every season that he has been at the club and has transformed some players into superstars.

Despite the current trophy-drought Wenger is still a respected figure in football and I can't help but feel Mandzukic would flourish under his guidance.
