Liverpool Linked With Sporting Lisbon Defender - Player Report

Liverpool fans could not have hoped for a better season than they have enjoyed this time out. Brendan Rodgers has guided the Reds to second in the table and have given them a real chance of winning the Premier League. It seems as though man newspapers would rather concentrate on next season though, and the summer in particular, and the Mirror are no different. They are reporting that Sporting Lisbon's Marcos Rojo, so I thought that I would tell Reds a little bit more about him.

The Argentina international is a centre-back by trade but can also be pushed into the left-back area if needed.

He's still only 23 but plays like he is an experienced defender and is someone who can fully be relied upon when it comes to topflight games.

He's a tall player who is dominant in the air but is also very strong on the deck. Liverpool's defence is something that has cost them top spot this season and to get some younger faces in the backline can only be a good thing.

Left-back has also been a problem for the Reds as Jose Enrique has been injured and Aly Cissokho has had mixed reviews, so to draft in Rojo would be a shrewd piece of business in my eyes.
