No Rush, Wenger: Why Ramsey's Delayed Return Will Not Affect Arsenal

Aaron Ramsey, before he got injured, was Arsenal's player of the season. There's no doubt about that. However, an injury cut him down when he was looking to push on and even challenged for the player of the season.

He has been out since the middle of December and Arsenal have clearly felt the effects as they've suffered, results wise, in his absence, as they miss his creativity and ability to get goals at any time in the match.

In recent reports, Ramsey's projected return was to be for the North London derby which is set to take place this weekend. But, according to the Guardian, the Welshman won't be fit in time to make this tie.

However, this isn't the worst piece of news that Arsenal could receive because, despite his abilities and importance to the side, his delayed return will not affect Arsenal in a negative way which others are trying to suggest. There are a few reasons for this as well.

Firstly, Ramsey's fantastic season, prior to the injury, could force Arsene Wenger into over exerting him before he's ready; especially in the absence of Mesut Ozil. One thing Arsenal don't want to do is rush him back into action as they made that mistake in January and he picked up another injury because of it. If the player isn't quite ready, why rush him and risk losing him for another long period of time?

The other reason, which isn't the last but it's the last I'll mention in this post, is the form of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The young Englishman has been immense since his return from injury and his performance against Bayern Munich encapsulates that.

He is a player that has proven to be effective in the Ramsey role of playing between the boxes. Chamberlain knows the great rivalry between Tottenham and Arsenal as well as he's played in a couple. When Arsenal already have an in form midfielder that plays in Ramsey's position why not leave him there; especially when his confidence is sky high.
