The Nearly Men: Arsenal's Season On Verge Of Flop After Champions League Exit

Arsenal fell out of the Champions League last night after managing just a 1-1 draw with holders Bayern Munich. The Germans had previously beaten the Gunners 2-1, so Wenger's men must now focus on the Premier League and FA Cup.

Unfortunately Wenger is now paying for his dithering in the January transfer market, with the season looking like being not quite as good as it could have been. The only real possibility of a trophy now is the FA cup - due to a surprising Wigan victory over Manchester City. If it wasn’t for that, then the FA Cup too would probably have been out of reach for Arsenal.

Not buying a top class striker in January is an error that, in my opinion, will cost Arsenal yet again this season.

It's a shame, as Arsenal are one of the most stylish teams to watch in the league, yet not adding that extra bit of quality to the team when needed in successive transfer windows threatens to see their season flop.

On paper, Arsenal have it all. A great stadium, fantastic players, iconic manager, and a rich history. Yet it looks like all this will come to nothing yet again.

How much longer can we tolerate being 'the nearly men' of Europe when the potential is there to achieve so much more?

Odds on to win the FA Cup, still in the hunt for the title. How exactly is this season looking like a flop?? Rubbish "journalism".
