Forget Arsenal, Here's Why Hull Should Be Fancied To Lift The FA Cup

Over the weekend the world was premiered an exciting and surprising FA Cup Quarter final. This saw two English Champion sides Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic achieve semi final positions. Joining them in the next round is Premier League title hopefuls Arsenal, and surprisingly mid table side Hull City. With Cup favourites Arsenal pushing to win a highly competitive topflight title, Hull City can snatch up the FA cup; here is how.

Hull City were busy in the January transfer market, bringing in strike pair Nikica Jelavic from Everton and Shane Long from West Brom, which which has given Hull City more danger upfront. Yet it is Hull’s midfield and captain that showed the Tigers' teeth against their 3-0 victory over Sunderland. Goals from Curtis Davies, David Meyler and Matty Fryatt booked their ticket to Wembley for a semi-final match against Sheffield United.

Hull have shown that when they are on their game they can cause big sides many problems. However if it was to come down to a final against the Tigers and the Gunners, punters would surely put Arsenal as favourites, as they have between Hull nine out of the twelve times they have met.

Yet Arsenal have shown a slump in league form of late, with injuries a huge factor. This could allow Hull to sneak past what would be a historical win against Arsenal.

Hull City have now progressed further in this cup campaign than ever before and have everything to gain. If Hull play patient football, taking Arsenal’s key midfielders out the game slowly but surely, the likes of Tom Huddlestone and Matty Fryatt can certainly hurt the north London side.

Hull have the form, the squad and the manager to beat any of the remaining sides, and they also have a self belief that could go some way to doing that.

For now, Steve Bruce's men face a formidable opponent in Championship side Sheffield United who will also be dreaming of the glory of a FA cup final.

It's obviously going to be a hard ask, but I see no reason that Hull can't lift the trophy, especially if Arsenal slip up against Wigan.

Sentiment right but this is factually incorrect
    1) Long and jelavic cup-tied, so cannot be in team
    2) Fryatt's a striker
    3) Have been at this stage before - 1930!

"Hull City were busy in the January transfer market, bringing in strike pair Nikica Jelavic from Everton and Shane Long from West Brom, which which has given Hull City more danger upfront."

We can't play either player as both are cuptied!!!

"For now, Steve Bruce's men face a formidable opponent in Championship side Sheffield United who will also be dreaming of the glory of a FA cup final."

Sheffield United DO NOT play in the Championship, they are a League 1 team.

Apologies but your article comes across as very shoddy journalism!

Remind me never to read an article by this person ever again!!! At least get somewhere near to the facts right before blogging!

Oh dear, oh dear. You've almost managed to fit in more mistakes than words.
