Pros & Cons: Should Arsenal Move For Van Persie?

This may seem like a straight forward question, but after reports have linked Arsenal with Robin van Persie, it got me thinking whether the Gunners going back for the Dutchman after he left for Manchester United. I came to a conclusion, but only after running through a few things which I have discussed below.

    Cons

I thought that I would start with the negatives, or at least what I thought were the negatives. Firstly I looked at his injuries, as he has had a lot of them and he is not getting any younger - he turns 31 on his next birthday - and his legs seems as brittle as anyone's in the league. He has missed game time through muscle problems, groin strains, knee twists and hamstring injuries, while he also missed games because of a knock.

Another problem for me is his age, as I touched upon, but you can twist that and say he would be a good mentor for the likes of Yaya Sanogo and the other young strikers.

    Pros

There are far more positives for a move if you are affiliated with Arsenal. His goals cannot be ignored whatever way you look at it - he was the Premier League's top scorer last season with 26 goals and he scored four more in other competitions, as well as 12 in 18 this season.

He's a creative player, he can play in various roles and it would help keep Olivier Giroud fresh. The Frenchman has been the main forward at the Emirates this season and he needs a top quality player to come in and support him.

It would also be a good move for van Persie, I think, as Manchester United look to be ready to have a major re-shuffle in the summer, and Arsenal continue their push for silverware.

Gooners, how do you see it? Would you welcome him back? I certainly would.

He was a bad influence on the younger players in his last few seasons. Is it any coincidence that Ramsey has blossomed since the greedy badger left? RVP would vociferously berate Ramsey if he tried something that did not come off. Ramsey was already lacking in confidence due to his injury and Van Persie compounded this with his impatience. Ramsey became much more conservative in his play.
Why would we want him back? He'd demand top wages and how many games would we get out of him? Once bitten twice shy. Let him lie in the bed he has made for himself and we can all laugh at him playing in the Europa if they finish that high that is.

Van Persie will return assuming prominence in the team, but we HAVE shifted forward. The previous comment was probably accurate regarding the effect on Ramsay. We also have to remember that it took a considerable amount of team before we gained anything from Van Persie's presence on the team, we had ONE good season from him. Then there is the LIKELIHOOD, YES LIKELIHOOD that Ox and Ramsay will become unstoppable, if they are given the chance.
VERDICT unsettling influence, perpetually crocked, AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THE CLUB. He OBVIOUSLY thought he was bigger than the club when he left, imagine how all consuming his ego will be if we invite him to return.

Our team spirit hasn't been this good since the Invincibles. It's not a coincidence that things in this regard improved when he left us. He'd never take a 50% pay cut to come back, which is realistically what it would take, and I can't see Arsene spending the quoted fee (£15 million) on an injury prone 31 year old.
    Won't happen.

we do not need the traitor

We don't want him we supported him through his injuries and he turns on us he can now stay and rot where he is with his 1 title puck of rvp U ain't wanted !!!!!
