Moyes' £150m Kitty: 3 Players I Would Try To Sign With War-Chest

With Manchester United currently sitting in seventh place in the Premier League, reports suggest that David Moyes will be given a summer kitty of £150m to rejuvinate the club. Here are three players who I would spend the money on.

    1) Ivan Rakitic - Sevilla

For me United need a staple in the middle of their side, and someone who is a willing runner from box to box. One man that stands out is Rakitic, who can defend, score and assist, and therefore has the potential to make a real difference to the Old Trafford side.

He has 12 goals and 12 assists to his name, but he's a player who can bring the best out of others, and perhaps most importantly gel the midfield to the strikers.

    2) Eliaquim Magala - Porto

With Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Jonny Evans currently injured, Manchester United are facing a small backline crisis right now. The former two are also out of contract in the summer, along with Rafael and Patrice Evra, so Moyes is in need of a defensive re-shuffle, and for me this is the man they should be structuring their future around.

Still only 22, the France international is a strong yet nimble player who has a proven record when it comes to playing it out from the back. With him at the heart of the defence and Phil Jones beside him, as well as Chris Smalling in reserve, United would could have one of the most exciting centre-back pairings for years to come.

    3) Marco Reus - Borussia Dortmund

I would also base my attack around this player, as well as the silky outlets Juan Mata and Shinji Kagawa, and really let them get at opponents with their inventiveness.

Reus can play anywhere in attack and is such a unique player, being able to drift in and out of opponents and being able to strike a ball from distance.

For me, these three would make United a real force again.

The first signing I'd make is Jose Mourinho. We have gone from walking the title to a mid table team. Something is clearly not right. The players aren't buying in to Moyes ideas. There is no belief in him. These are the same players as last season. If JM was in charge we would be challenging. He should of been the man in the first place. Moyes is a good, strong character but JM is a genius. I think eventually he will replace DM. Fergie only had praise for JM in his book and I think he won't make the same mistake again. Not sure i would trust DM to spend 150 million.

Why the name of Reus is constantly connected with Man. United I have no idea.
It has been stated often enough that Reus will be going nowhere until at least 2015 when a 'release clause' may be activated. A bid above €35M will trigger the clause and negotiations may begin... with no guarantees of success either from Dortmund or Reus!
To suggest United can buy Reus before 2015 is plain fantasy as Dortmund will not entertain bids while Reus has said he is happy to stay where he is for the time being.
    So ends the speculation!!!

Moyes is non-entity and United should have looked for a manager who had actually won something rather than someone who has only managed a lesser team with an average budget and only managed players who are just a touch above poor.
United needed someone who had balls to follow Sir Alex and who would not have removed all the backroom staff in one go. Had he decided to continue with the minimum of disruption and followed the well trodden and successful course which Sir Alex had taken, all would probably have been ok.
Moyes has not got the nous nor the ability to take on United and continue the success which the club has had for so many years and under his tenure, United are destined for a new season without Champions League football, no trophies in the cabinet and disillusioned players who have had their careers turned upside down by changing too many things at once.
The man who should have given the job was undoubtably Jose Mourinho but various people at United did not want Jose and so they went for the more suitable option... Moyes and what a mistake that is proving to be.
Personally I would have gone for Juergen Klopp (B. Dortmund). He has a style similar to Sir Alex. Fast, forward, attacking football combined with a work effort and he would have kept United in the hunt for trophies and not instead of languishing in the lower reaches of the PL.
Still, all too late now. United made their choice and they must suffer the consequences and boy are they suffering!

Certainly a baptism of fire for Moyes and like many others I feel he is not up to the job. His poor record at Everton having not won anything would have been enough to stay clear. Unfortunately listening to SAF has put us into this position. Obviously his training methods, tactics , playing players out of position , poor substitutions(at Stoke bringing Welbeck on instead of Fletcher) no plan B etc are detrimental to our team progressing. And lets not go to his Summer spending - joke.
We are told we are in transition now we have Moyes and it will take time. Look at the facts. Bayern had just won the CL and changed their manager and are in transition - wait a minute they got Pep as manager, so still in transition I don't think so. Chelsea are in transition as are City having brought in new managers. But then their new managers have coped well with transition and brought extra to their play. Hell fire Barca have had a few managers too since Pep left and are still in transition I don't think so. Also all these clubs are not afraid to strengthen - they identify a need and go out and buy a solution.
4th spot and Champions League next year looks like out of our reach especially with the fixtures left. I feel we will lose 4 or more games over the rest of the season.
I have supported United since the 1960's and don't want us to end up with the situation that happened when Busby retired. Unfortunately under this manager there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.
