Liverpool Profiting From Chelsea's Mistake To Let Sturridge And Moses Leave

Mouth wide open and shaking my head in disbelief - those have been my reactions lately while I’m watching Liverpool matches. Not because of how they’ve been playing as a team, they have quite a bit of talent on their squad, I know that. No, it’s just one man that drives me crazy each week, Daniel Sturridge.

Yes, Sturridge has been giving Chelsea fans around the globe yet another reason to hate Liverpool. The forward scored twice as the Reds sailed to a 4-3 win over Swansea City at the weekend. Jordan Henderson scored the other two goals and Liverpool received a much-needed three points from the Welsh side.

Now I try to be as unbiased as possible, but as a Chelsea fan, Liverpool these days have really been rubbing me the wrong way.

Maybe I’m just stuck in the past, but seeing Daniel Sturridge do so well over there just makes me upset. I always liked him while he was at Chelsea, and I was actually really sad to see him go. He was of course happy to be getting new first team opportunities, which is understandable, but the difference between Chelsea Daniel Sturridge and Liverpool Daniel Sturridge is like night and day.

Why wasn’t he scoring all of these goals while he was at Chelsea? Its like as soon as he made the switch he was a different person - a goal-scoring machine. And to make matters worse, he was replaced in the second half of the Swansea match by none other than Victor Moses, another bright young Chelsea star who we had to say goodbye to a bit too soon.

But in all honesty, Liverpool really are a better fit for both Moses and Sturridge. Especially the latter, who is getting a lot more first team play in red than he ever would in blue, and perhaps that first team play and experience is what he needed to unleash that goal scoring machine. As for Moses, he is still quite young and it would have been near impossible to break into a permanent spot in the ever so deep Chelsea midfield. As much as it pains me to say, these two have proven to be quite a successful addition to Liverpool, and it’s showing on the Premier League table.

Liverpool are currently 4th place in the table - not bad, but also not great. They’re four points behind table leaders Chelsea. However, interestingly enough, Liverpool have actually scored the most goals so far this season, with striker Luiz Suarez leading in league goals with Sturridge second as well.

And in another weird occurrence Liverpool have conceded fourteen more goals than first place Chelsea, which is quite a bit. Could Liverpool win the league, in my opinion with that many conceded goals their defence may not be strong enough to keep up their winning ways throughout the rest of the season.

But who knows, if Sturridge and Suarez keep all the goals coming, anything could happen. Liverpool will meet Southampton at the weekend, and the Saints are always one to surprise. I don’t think it will be an easy match for them and it will be a really great opportunity for Liverpool to prove that not only they belong in the top four, but that their title winning history could once again become a reality.

Moses has been a bloody LAZY DISINTERESTED BASTARD !!! He doesnt even deserve to be on Liverpool's bench, and he will be going straight back to Chelsea once this season is over !!! And if Rodgers thinks about signing him,he'll be signing his own DEATHWARRANT ( Because the fans will have a field day )

Yes, Liverpool has to thank Chelsea. Not only the young goal scoring Sturridge...they also thank Chelsea for the 50M pound from the sale of Torres so they can sign Suarez.
Chelsea can sign those who score against them, like Torres and Mireles from Liverpool. Chelsea can sign those players Liverpool confirmed as prime target, like Willian and Salah..etc. Liverpool's owner doesn't have as much money as oil company owner does. On these days, they compete in the league by upgrading their players from limited resource and dig out some gems from some unknown location.
That makes some people like their way of doing business. Hope you start to appreciate their situation...
It will be interesting to see how they play when Chelsea visit Anfield later this season.
