144 Passes, 1 Goal: How Toni Kroos Ripped Arsenal Apart

Bayern are the reigning champions of Europe for a reason - they own a squad crammed full of world class players and a manager who has won an enormous amount of trophies in a short space of time. Granted, Pep Guardiola wasn't responsible for the success last season, but he has carried on Jupp Heynckes' ambitions.

One man that epitomises everything about the club is Toni Kroos, and he ripped through a timid Arsenal side last night at the Emirates last night.

The German was deployed in the middle of the pitch with Thiago Alcantara and he bossed the game with ease. During the 90 minutes he completed an extraordinary 144 of his 149 attempted passes, giving him a success rate of 97%, and he also opened the scoring with an incredible strike from the edge of the area.

He was resposible for the pass that led to the Bayern penalty and made two interceptions, as well as completing 4/7 crosses. Three of his five efforts hit the target, one hit the woodwork and the other was blocked, and he caused trouble with the range of passing, too.

Arsenal struggled to get a foothold in the game and it was largely to do with the domineering display of Toni Kroos.
