Kagawa Out, Gundogan In? Why Manchester United Swap Could Be The Perfect Deal

With January done and dusted, there are going to be players who are not in their manager's plans but will have to play the rest of the season at their current club, or at least watch. That seems to be the case with Shinji Kagawa at Manchester United, as the Japan international will have to wait until the summer for a move if he indeed wants out of the club.

He could be heading back to his former club too, as the Mirror suggest he could be used in a deal that brings Ilkay Gundogan to Old Trafford.

For me it's a perfect scenario. Kagawa isn't currently getting a look in at United and has fallen down the pecking order in every position - in the hole behind the striker Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata are ahead of him, and on the right Mata is also first choice.

On the left of midfield Adnan Januzaj is Moyes' favourite so Kagawa has struggled to get any sort of run together.

He's obviously a talented player, but if they are not planning to use them then they may as well get rid in my eyes, and to get a player in the mould of Gundogan would be ideal.

The Germany international can play anywhere in the middle of the pitch and is the box-to-box midfielder that United need in my eyes. He is an energetic player who keeps the game moving at a constant pace and injects a huge amount of technique into any side he is playing in.

For me it could be the perfect swap.
