    Antoine Griezmann: Arsenal bound?

Theo Walcott must have walked under a ladder whilst stroking a black cat at the same time as walking over three drains because the Arsenal winger has terrible luck.

Having just returned from a lengthy injury lay off he has been sidelined again after rupturing his cruciate ligament during Arsenal's 2-0 win over Spurs last weekend. Walcott had been in fantastic form and with Arsenal flying high at the top of the Premier League it looked as though he could be a vital component in the Gunner's title run.

Unfortunately, though, he will be out for six months meaning he will miss the rest of the season as well as this summer's World Cup in Brazil which really is a blow for both club and country.

Anyway, even before Walcott's injury there was much talk of Arsenal dipping into the transfer market to supplant their forward options, namely a viable alternative to Olivier Giroud who has shouldered most of the heavy work load this season.

The January transfer window, however, is a difficult time to conduct business especially if you are a team at the top of the table looking to recruit wold class talent because most of the world class talent is embedded in competitive teams who are in contention for silverware on many fronts therefore unwilling to offload their prized possessions.

That means Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa, for example, is out of equation as Atletico are currently clashing with Barcelona atop La Liga.

It appears that Arsene Wenger has cast his watchful eye elsewhere in La Liga, over to Real Sociedad and their prized French winger Antoine Griezmann. Apparently the club rejected a bid for 15m Euros for the highly rated winger from Arsenal, insisting their valuation is double what has been offered.

Is Arsenal's need so much that Wenger would be willing to pay over the odds for the young man? Following the Mesut Ozil transfer in the summer nothing should be ruled out.
